Spending time posting about something I don't like seems like a waste of time when I hardly have enough time to post all the great stuff happening. I'll leave the "Shitstains on the ass of the universe" thing to Metal Sucks for now.
That covers news and features but what's different with reviews is the fact that I'll often get requests by bands to review their album or I myself contact bands and labels, without having heard the album, to request a press kit. I will say immediately that if I ever request, or get a request for, a review and I end up not liking the album I will write a negative but constructive review, I don't get any satisfaction from shitting all over someone else's creation so I'll leave that to Metal Sucks as well (although that review that compared an album to deliberately eating spoiled Chinese food was hilarious).
I've been lucky so far that all the albums I've reviewed have been good while still giving me a chance to offer up some constructive criticism but eventually my luck will probably run out so stay tuned if bad music is what you're looking for.
As a musician and writer myself I know how much work goes into getting your creation out there and how much emotion is tied to it but I also know that all artists need genuine criticism to progress. This line is a fine one and I plan to continue the careful dance upon it that I have devoted myself to so far.
