A couple of great post-hardcore bands posted new songs in the last week, both of them are signed to Blue Swan Records (owned by Will Swan of Dance Gavin Dance), both are progressive and both are great.
First up is Hail The Sun:
If you haven't heard them already check out their EP Elephantitis, it's fantastic. This new song is more of the same in a good way but I feel like I hear a bit more Fall of Troy influence in there than I can remember from the earlier material. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe it's just time to revisit that EP. I think it is. Their new album Wake is out on the 23rd of September on Blue Swan Records. The second of the two is Stolas:
Last year Stolas released Living Creatures which had a lot of guest vocalists, a lot of great songs and some fantastic art work. If the above video is to be believed we can expect at least two of those on the new album, out in October, and who knows...maybe there'll be guest appearances from all of DGD's ex/current singers again. The song is their best yet in my opinion so check it out, pre-order the album and all that jazz. Now if only Sianvar, A Lot Like Birds and The Venetia Fair would release new albums as well this year would be post-hardcore heaven. Jón Þór
A blog mostly about music but also films and video games. No genre of music is out of bounds but underground, experimental and progressive music has been the focus so far.
